Dr. Sandra Elizabeth Ford, MD, MBA, FAAP, FACHE is a nationally recognized public health leader with over 30 years of experience advancing health equity, maternal and child health, and the social determinants of health. She served as Special Assistant to the President for Public Health and Science in the White House Domestic Policy Council, where she led the development of the U.S. Playbook to Address Social Determinants of Health and contributed to national strategies on maternal health and pandemic preparedness.
Dr. Ford previously served as District Health Director for both Fulton and DeKalb Counties in Georgia, overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets, managing COVID-19 response efforts, and launching equity-focused programs such as M.O.R.E. (Mothers Offering Resources and Education). She is currently Special Advisor for Healthcare in DeKalb County and CEO of BFT Consulting, LLC, supporting national clients on issues of strategy, equity, and system redesign.
Board-certified in Pediatrics and Healthcare Management, Dr. Ford brings clinical expertise, policy acumen, and a deep commitment to underserved communities. She is fluent in Spanish and a trusted advisor across sectors.
